Christmas!

Ah, Christmas! There are two purposes for this picture: one. At this very moment, I am watching the ever wonderful The Sound of Music. Two. This was how we were Christmas Eve, minus four children and plus one male grownup. Or something like that. :) We slept near the Christmas tree, and heard a mysterious jingling of bells around midnight...which can only mean one thing—the Munchkins from Munchkin land had invaded!! XD Anyway, Christmas was really nice!! I got my first pair of Ugs, and also got a nice silver watch and several pretty pair of earrings. As well as that, I got tic-tacs...YES. The orange kind, too. Also some VERY awesome shirts, which are awesomely-awesome to the point of awesomeness.
My very posh, cool fashion sweater....thing. I'm sure it'll look great with matching clothes!

Oh yeah. My favorite word: Imagine.

Well, this is Anna signing out for you few people who actually glance at this blog. Cheers, and a very merry soon-to-be New Year!

The Gift

The Gift comes in mysterious ways.

It calls...

You cannot receive The Gift—you must be born to it.

It is Destiny.

Now, we must consult with the stars...with the Elders...

So few possess it now...

You cannot know what the gift is until you yourself have The Gift.

You must not tell others.

Only those who have The Gift can tell if others have The Gift as well.

Those who may have The Gift must be Tested...

Those who possess The Gift are linked...

There are ways of abusing the Gift...BUT YOU MUST NOT. Have respect for all forms and variations of The Gift.

I cannot reveal to you what The Gift is. Unless you have The Gift. If you do, you already know what I'm referring to.

Ah, the Memories...

Behold—one of my first stories, when my creative mind was still evolving. I think it had been a good idea...I just couldn't really form it into words...as you can see, I thought B+ was the worst grade back then, and the more +s you had, the worse off you were. :) I also thought "funly" was a word. Cower in fear, here comes bad writing!

Little Miss Sleepy

By Anna Wright

Once upon a time, on a very sleepy hill, down a very sleepy road, in a very sleepy house, lived a very sleepy girl. She was so sleepy that she never ate. One day her mom said, “Time to wake up sleepy head”. What do you think she said? “I’m too sleepy” “Sigh” said the Mother I guess I will have to drag her. Finally, they got to school.

She slept till it was recess. So the teacher dragged her outside.

She checked all the papers. Let’s see, A, A+, A+, B+ + + + + +

When she went out side, just as she thought, “penny was the

Sleepyheads name” Penny was sleeping and the others were playing funly.

That's as far as I got, and I still have the document. Wow...

Our Family

Aww...isn't this the cutest thing?? I'm not sure why this text is underlined...

Cool Website!

This is a pretty cool website I just discovered—it has fairy tales from Hans Christian Anderson/Grimm and also the works of Shakespeare, Edgar Allen Poe, Rudyard Kipling...anyway, I'm going to explore it some more. Check it out!

(This specific link goes to the "Hans Christian Anderson" section.)

Update on Ronny! (and everything else)

In 2008 I promised to update on my kittens...so...:D There's only Ronny now, but he's doing fine. Yesterday he caught a bird and two mice!
I think it's so strange but nice that winter is creeping in so slowly. Usually by now the air is crisp and cool, and it sort of tastes like autumn in the air. Instead it's rather hot most days, though some of the leaves are falling off of the trees. I wonder if global warming has anything to do with it?
I'd like to have snow like that again :) That was really fun! I'm always disappointed if the snow is only an inch or two high—that's no fun.
This year I'm taking French 1, which is lots of fun! Hopefully it'll help me advance more when I get into high school.
I'm STILL working on Just a Penny, because I keep procrastinating on the cover letter. :) If only I could get that done, then we would finally be able to send the manuscript to Deseret publishing. I'm hoping today will be the day.
Our neighbors had kittens! They're so adorable, just little scraps of fluff and big blue eyes. Of course, Mom said we couldn't get one because she put her foot down after we got two. Sighhhh. It's fun to pet them, though, and the tan male is feisty. He hisses whenever you pet him too much. :) The others don't really mind. They can walk, too, but in a wobbly way.
Well, I don't think I can think of anything else...oh, right. Wendy Mass is coming to our school! Isn't that neat? She wrote "A Mango Shaped-Space," which is one of the books I really like by her.
I can't think of anything else at the moment...so, adieu!

Tribute to West Side Story

Another one of the greatest musicals ever...

Riff: Look, Tony, I've never asked the time of day from a clock but I'm asking you—come to the dance tonight.
Ice: Just play it cool, boy—real cool.
Tony: You heard - it's gonna be a fair fight!
Doc: And that's going to cure something?
Tony: From here on in, everythin's gonna be all right! I got a feelin'!
Doc: What have you been taking tonight?
Tony: A trip to the moon! And I'll tell ya a secret. It ain't a man that's up there, Doc. It's a girl, lady. Buenas noches, Senor.
Doc: Buenas noches? So that's why you made it a fair fight...
Tony: I'm gonna see her tomorrow an' I can't wait!
Doc: Tony... things aren't tough enough?
Tony: Tough? Doc, I'm in love!
Doc: And you're not frightened?
Tony: Should I be?
Doc: [after a pause] No. I'm frightened enough for the both of us.
Bernardo: I'd like to go back to San Juan...
Anita: I know a boat you can get on!
Tony: I- I didn't believe hard enough.
Maria: Loving is enough.
Tony: Not here. They won't let us be.
Maria: Then we'll run away.
Tony: Yeah, we can.
Maria: Yes.
Tony: We will...
Maria: Hold my hand and we're halfway there—hold my hand and I'll take you there, Someday, Somehow, Some...
(The word dies on her lips)
Maria:(whispering)...where...
Tony: It's all right—we're really together now!
Maria: But it's not us—it's everything around us.
Tony: Then I'll take you away, where nothing can get to us! Not anyone...or anything.
Maria: I feel pretty, oh so pretty!

Maria: Te adoro, Antone.
Anybodys, Tomboy: I ain't never gonna get married. Too noisy.
A-Rab: You ain't never gonna get married. Too ugly.
Anybodys, Tomboy: Hey buddy boys!
Action: Ah, go wear a skirt.
Anybodys, Tomboy: Listen...
Ice: The first thing we do is we start showin' around like we have nothin' to hide...
Anybodys, Tomboy: Listen!
A-Rab: Supposin' they ask us about the rumble?
Anybodys, Tomboy: Supposin' they ask you where's Tony and what party's lookin' for him? WITH A GUN.
Ice: Hey, you know somethin'?
Anybodys, Tomboy: (miffed) I know I gotta go get a skirt.
Doc: When do you kids stop? You make this world lousy!
Action: We didn't make it, Doc.
Lieutenant Schrank: Oh—do you mind?
Doc:(tiredly) I have no mind. I'm the village idiot!
Doc: Why do you kids live like there's a war on?
Maria and Tony: Today, the world was just an address—a place for me to live in—no better than alright...
But here, you are, and what was just a world, is a star! Tonight!
